Titans 18AAA are 2015 Pacific District Finalist

Congratulations to the Titans 18AAA team, finishing the season as 2015 Pacific District Championship Finalist. The team is poised to make another strong run in the 2015-16 season.

Titans 18AAA Advance to Pacific District Playoffs

The Titans 18AAA team punched their ticket to the 2015 Pacific District Playoffs on the strength of having finished runner-up in the CAHA State Playoffs. Having beaten both the L.A. Jr. Kings and Ontario Avalance, the 18AAA team advanced undefeated into the state championship game. Now they move on to face the top teams from the Pacific District on March 5-8 in San Jose.

Congratulations to both the Titans 16AAA and 18AAA teams for advancing to the 2015 CAHA State Playoffs to be held Feb. 6th-8th in Lakewood.

Local Players Thrive for Titans

The Titans are stacked with talented prospects from Russia, Alaska and Finland, but local homegrown players are showing Ventura County is a hot spot for ice hockey talent. Former Titans have worked their way up to the National Hockey League and the North American Hockey League, while dozens have gone on to take the ice for college squads. The Titans, who call Iceoplex in Simi Valley home, have steadily developed into one of the premier North American Prospect Hockey League programs in the nation.

Copley Gets Call to NHL

Pheonix Copley called up to Washington Capitals
Former Titans goaltender Pheonix Copley has been called up to the NHL by the Washington Capitals. He signed with Washington as a free agent in March 2014. Copley played for the Titans 18AAA team for the 2009-10 season.

Nast and Weber Sign NAHL Tenders

The California Titans are pleased to announce that goaltender Nick Nast and forward Eric Weber of the 18AAA team have signed NAHL tender agreements. Nast signed with the Kenai River Brown Bears and Weber with the Bismarck Bobcats.

NAHL success for Madry and Somoza

In Chandler Madry’s third season with the Fairbanks IceDogs and Ethan Somoza’s second, the former California Titans are having great success in the NAHL this season. Madry and Somoza are 1-2 in scoring and have the defending Robertson Cup champions back on top of the Midwest Division.

Bortolotto and Somoza Sign NAHL Tenders

Congratulations to Nicholas Bortolotto and Evan Somoza of the Titans 18AAA team, who have signed tenders to play in the North American Hockey League (NAHL). Nicholas signed to play for the Corpus Christi IceRays and Evan signed to play for the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.

Face Off With Cancer

Thanks to all of you who joined the Face Off With Cancer event. The event raised over $20,000 dollars to fight cancer. In addition, we registered 64 people for the Delete Blood Cancer DKMS international bone marrow donor registry. Together, lives will literally be saved by the work you have done. YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!

Also, we thank all the current and alumni Titans players who volunteered their time to help out with this event.

USHL Teams Draft Somoza and Harris


United States Hockey League (USHL)

Congratulations to former Titans players Ethan Somoza and Brendan Harris, who were drafted May 5th in the 2015 United States Hockey League (USHL) Draft. Somoza, who last season played for Fairbanks Ice Dogs of the NAHL, was the 8th pick in the first round by the Bloomington Thunder. Harris, who played last season for the Wenatchee Wild of the NAHL, was drafted in the 24th round by the Sioux Falls Stampede. Both Somoza and Harris played for the Titans in the 2012-13 season, finishing 1st and 3rd in points, respectively.

Louis Pacella to Coach Titans 16AAA

The California Titans are pleased to announce Louis Pacella as Head Coach of the 16AAA program for the upcoming 2015-16 season. "I have competed against Louis for a long time and respect and admire how hard and disciplined his hockey teams play," said Scott Yorkison, Director of Hockey for the California Titans and Head Coach of the 18AAA team. "Obviously his coaching resume is stellar, but it's his hard work and dedication to everything he does off-ice as well, including his family, that impressed me. I look forward to working with him and am excited to get started."

Horowitz Signs NAHL tender

NAPHLTitans 18U forward Frank Horowitz has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Minnesota Magicians, who play in the NAHL’s Midwest Division. Horowitz is the fifth California Titans 18U player to sign an NAHL tender this season.

NAPHL All-Star and Academic Teams


Congratulations to Titans 18U goaltender Nick Nast, who was selected to the All-NAPHL 18U 3rd Team based on his performance in regular season and playoff games throughout the 2014-15 season.

The 2014-15 All-NAPHL Academic Team was also announced, honoring the following players who have worked long and hard to achieve excellence and recognition both on and off the ice.

Nast Selected NAPHL Peak Performer

NAPHLGoaltender Nicholas Nast of the Titans 18AAA team was named a December NAPHL Peak Performer for his performance in Blaine, Minnesota. Nast won all three starts, giving up just three goals on 94 shots in three games.

October NAPHL Peak Performers


The North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) announced its October Peak Performers, selecting players based upon their performance at the NAPHL event in Romeoville, Illinois. Congratulations to the following players.
